Classic Elan S4 Colours

Hi all,

Having my Elan S4 resprayed and want it to be the original factory colour. As far as I can tell there are no records of what colour specific cars were when they came out of the factory but I know mine was red.
That narrows it down to two choices;
1) Carnival red
2) Calypso red

Does anyone know which colour it will likely have been?

It will have been Carnival Red - my first Elan (a 1968 S4 coupe on Strombergs) was that colour.

Calypso Red was much later (Esprit/Elise generation).
