I'm the same height as you and about 15 and a half stone. I tried getting in one at Silverstone a couple of years back. I managaed to lever myself into place and it was pretty tight. Pedals were offset to the centre of the car and quite close together though no worse than a Caterham. Headroom was restricted - no chance of wearing a helmet in there. Worst bit though was my knees against the underside of the wheel but I guess this could be sorted with a smaller one.
Its possible however that all cars are different and you might be able to get in this one. The one I tried was in Gold Leaf colour running a Vauxhall engine too and had just been rebuilt.

There are some more details of that car on the Banks website

I'm 6ft 3in and fitted (just) into my S2.
As with a number of interesting cars they never seem designed for the taller driver so as always it's a case of making sacrifices to fit but don't despair. The seat has quite thick padding and sits high on it's runners. I guess if you remove it and fit a racing seat or got a foam seat made, then wearing a helmet would be possible.
A friend has an early Banks 47 (Vauxhall) in Gold Leaf colours which is indecently quick and a fabulous car. A slightly left field alternative then to the modern default of putting a honda / duratec in your Elise.
