Many years ago I fell in love with a car, when people had posters on their wall of a ferrari or lamborghini I would look at them and think yea that is nice but on my wall I had a different car. I would go to sleep dreaming of the car and how one day I would own one, to me it was just about the most awesome thing in the world and I would look at my poster as if it was the woman of my dreams.

Years later I went to buy a car of my dreams and came away with something from the same stable, I was pleased with the car, it felt great to drive and I cleaned it with such tenderness you'd have thought it was made of china but something was wrong. It's not the car of my dreams, don't get me wrong it is an awesome car but it is not the thing I longed for, it's not the thing I would lay awake at night thinking about.

It was a sham and I bought it because I was scared to buy my dream, I didn't want my dream to be smashed if there was something wrong with it. Rather like marrying a supermodel and finding out she's nuts.

To me the car was perfect and I was simply too scared to own her.

Now I am going to finally admit it, I want an Esprit.

Do it...do you know which model/shape yr after?

If you want something bad enough you will get it. If you dont you didnt really want it.

Well there is nothing inherently wrong with the Esprit. There will quite likely be various issues that you may have to deal with depending on how well it has been looked after. Too many people buy Esprits because they are not expensive and then get surprised by the service costs - and then things get neglected...

If you can stand all the attention, the questions, the people who will overtake you just to take photographs then just go ahead and do it.

Unlike you, I never lusted after an Esprit, I was looking for a F355 but an Esprit V8 found me instead.

Never looked back once.

I'm reading as much as I can at the moment, a v8 would be nice but I'm resisting going to look at any until I know them inside out.
