Hi all, for a few years now I have been building 3D car models and sometimes I import them into games such as Need For Speed to fly around tracks in. I built this TVR Cerbera Speed 12 a while ago

And I'm currently building a Lotus GT1. I'm currently searching for some GT1 multimedia so I can get a good idea of the engine sound so I can make the car as accurate as possible. Any links to movies or sound files would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rowan.

For the sound I never ear the real one...

From what I recall the car had at least two, manybe three different engines in it's lifetime so you get a choice of noises.

Started with a twin turbo esprit V8 which either got banned or was too thirsty or something. Then went to NA Chevy 6L V8 or similar, then maybe something else.

Sorry, bit random I know but hey, it is Friday afternoon.

Nice model What software do you use for that? I was talking to Bodo about 3d modelling yesterday as I'd like to try it out on some car profile sketches I've done.

Thanks, the program I use is called Zmodeler, it is mainly for designing models for car racing games but I often use it to design other things aswell. I have built a fair bit of construction equipment and other bits and pieces. Its really easy to use once you get hang of all the functions and I really recomment it. It also allows you to load blueprints as bacgroud images which is very helpfull. The program is available at www.zmodeler.com

I've been trying to source some good schematics of the last esprites for modeling in 3ds max, has anyone got any ideas, photos are fine but could cause a problem with perspective distotion and I doubt I could get a good top down picture, my roof isnt high enough!

GERAT WORK !!!
The race version is just COOL !!!
and...
i'm waiting for road version !!!

I love this car (i know it from NFS2 se )and i've
always dreamd about racing it in nfs4

If You need some engine sounds or similar media
just install NFS2 - there is GT1 movie and You
can grab the engine sound from that NFS2 version !

Thanks a lot for that VERY nice car !!!

Thanks for the comments, I have started on the road version and completely re-built the front of the car, and reshaped a lot of the rest of the body because it was rather off. The car will also be available for NFS:HP2 eventually!!! I'm workong on it really slowly but it will get there.

Whenever you have it ready for NFS:HP2 let us know. I'd love to test it out. Too bad it's not as easy (or cheap) to build one of these in the real world

Good Job!

Well I've finally got around to working on the car some more, its almost complete so it should be ready for release within the next 2 weeks. I've worked hard to get the shape as accurate as possible and although its still slightly off in places, its about as close as I'll get it
