M250 - a question

Does anyone know exactly when the M250 project officially shelved? (ie: when did Hethel actualy release a statement to this effect).
I'm looking at the Lotus website but as yet can't find anything relevant.
Am I correct in thinking it was sometime at the start of 2003?

Nah, way earlier than this year! Pistonheads.com announced the news on 8th May 2001.
