Well, to be fair to the Elite, aside from all the cack and misinformation the author has spouted about the car, he's done nothing new and adventurous.
He's got a broken car and does something very obvious and unoriginal with it - chuck in a V8. How very American.
Hurrah for him.

Sometimes the effort can be misguided.......this is is such a case in my opinion. That classic design has been americanized and in doing so lost its identity.

It was a lot better befor IMO

That's fair comment, but the two posts before mine were about the colour. wobble

I agree with bruh_la I'm afraid. An original resto back to original spec would have been a greater achievement and kept another classic alive. Shame.

Ok the colour & wheels are a bit yikes but the interior has been done very well & is what Lotus should have done & the engine is what they intended to do isn't it?

Have always liked Elites, for some reason, probably as it was the first Lotus I ever went in.
Anyway, in my first short reply saying I liked it in it's original colour, I should have elaborated by stating , as some others have, that it's lost it's classic look & now looks like some pimped up American waggon with Bling wheels & a Big motor.
Yes, the restoration is good, but sometimes restorers loose the vision of what the vehicle was, as in this case.

If the original car was "right", then it would be a waste of time doing what this chap has done, but it was not. This guy has improved it significantly, but in my opinion should have fitted an LS1, but hey, that`s my opinion, and he`s free to do whatever he wants...good luck to him.
