I had no idea I could buy a Lotus Esprit for less than 10k!

Any tips? Seen a 2.2 turbo Esprit for around £9k. Bear in mind I know very little about them!

If you really do know nothing about the Esprit and are serious about buying one, first have a look on http://www.lotusespritworld.com/ and read a bit about the cars then look on http://www.lotusespritforum.com/forums/,then after all that take someone with you to have a look plenty of people from the Forum would go along with you just so you don't get dazzled by the shininess factor,a little thing on an Esprit can cost alot to fix,i have just replaced the exhaust manifold on mine and that was £600 odd quid without labour or gaskets etc ........but they are worth every penny and reward well.

I know thousands of people with Esprits who are very happy with them. Magazine articles don't know as much as owners, perhaps you should expand your Esprit knowledge horizons?

the Owners are the best to speak to, magazines are just pure journalism and media, entertaining but not always to the point

to the TC, my dad bought a 1990 Turbo SE for just over £7K, needed some work and is currently running Rich frown

great cars...but research them and make sure you know what to look for!
