What do you Lotus fans think?

Which engine is it? What power?

Any other comments?

Thanks.

It's a Sport 135, which means it has a mildly tuned Rover K-series, producing about 135bhp (the give-away is the bit in the ad that says 'complete with 135 bhp'wink ).

I've not driven one, but it's supposed to be a nice engine - a good compromise between the standard K-series and the Sport 160 (which is tending toward being a bit ill-mannered for road use), with a bit more 'character' than the VVC engine in the 111S.

Great little Lotus. Had one, loved it. Price seems OK for miles. Great hadling with the Lotus Sport set up. The only thing I found was I would have liked a little more power, but still a great car.....Not as nice as the MRK1 Sport160 I've just sold, but probably a little more useable everyday.

Hi...

Um... not any more, my heart is crying out for a Chimaera. Sorry. V8+sexy curves... even if oil ran out or was £15/litre, I could still leave it on my drive and ogle at it.

I went from a 111s to a TVR T350 so can appreciate where you're coming from.
The one problem with the Lotus was complete lack of top end power.
On a motorway it was dreadful. The engine in the TVR is a completely different league.

I put a sports exhaust on the Lotus and, in my opinion, it still sounded like a weedy 4 cylinder - just one with asthma.

Apart from that though, the Lotus was better in every way - and fantastic fun on country lanes.
The most remarkably communicative handling of any car I've ever had.
It also doesn't cost you £500 every time you walk through the door of a dealer (which is often!) and need servicing every 15 minutes, unlike the TVR.

I'd love an Exige but, even with the supercharger, I still don't like the engine.

I'm therefore waiting on the sidelines to see what the Eagle's like....

Live in Twickenham.

MKG300 is a Mazda dealership but for some reason they often have the odd Lotus on the forecourt. Their was an Exige there a few months back. Someone in the sale team must like them!
