Super Chips...

Anyone had their Lotus Elise super chipped......and if so what was the outcome! Was it worth doing?

you will struggle to find anyone...no its not really worth doing to a 120bhp Rover K series engine...you will get a few bhp if youre lucky. Youre much better off spending a few hundred quid more and getting a real aftermarket ECU like the Emerald on there, then you can tune it, as you ad further mods.

If memory is right Mark Donald had one on his original Elise and it turned out to actually give no power increase when tested on a rollign road.

Super Chips has a bad name with us M100 owners, as all there chip did was cut the fuel safety feature (for overboost)and tricked the ECU in to slightly higher boost and charged approx £500 but if for some reason you got overboost ie stuck wastegate there was nothing protecting the engine.

Luckly now we`ve got some great members on LEC and one off them programes chips for usso no more BBR`s or Super ste`s
