Looking forward to picking up my Sport 160 this weekend, it's my first Lotus so no doubt will be posting lots of "how do you adjust the...." on Monday.

Anyhow just wanted to say hello....

Make sure you get the sports exhaust, makes it sound all the better, also, lose those nasty cats too.

Well done! thumbup

Full of character, Sport 160's. Still learning the little foibles about mine.

What colour is yours?

It's green and used to belong to Andy25, It's got all the bits and bods done e.g. sports exhaust, short shift kit etc...

Hope you're enjoying the frog Robin most on here will remeber it for being Alexg car the Toxic frog.

With the sun out Sat I bet it all made sense as I know you were a little worried about the lack of power after the CSL....I'll miss the open top motoring....but the CSL is making up for that as it's a dream. Getting used to that extra power and gear box....took about an hour and one big smile. Anyway pleasure doing business with you and hopefully meet up at a track day or two.

Robin not sure if I would do that as when I bought it from Alex he did remove them but put it back on as he found that if he went on a Lotus run, with the exhaust and rich running, it used to make the people in the cars behind eyes run....but everyone to their own....Plus it's bloody load enough already. I could hear you leave the car park and travel two miles up the road and I hadn't left....NICE

Andy,
It's super loud already so I won't be touching anything.
My views so far:
It's such a change to CSL, slower yes but completely alive in sound, feedback and response. Compared to an Ultima GTR it's also nicely balanced with just around the right amount of power (although I would like slightly more torque).
The tuning is just right and I like little things like being able to judge throttle position by the exhaust sound.
Great car, now all I need is the British Weather to play ball and it'll be a great summer...

Simple answer, overtake.

I loved the sound of the staright throughs with the sports exhuast, my brother had the same set up on his and although it gave you ear ache on a journey, it was always well worth it.

The popping and general sound was just too good not to have.

The toxic frog pops and bangs with the cat..not sure what exhaust Alex put on there but it is a single outlet...I think he told me it was from the famous light boat...what ever that is!!!

Only just spotted this one! Welcome to the mad world of Sport 160 ownership! clap

You're now part of a small group of slightly insane individuals, you couldn't have picked a better Elise model. Get the decat on there and enjoy the flames from the exhaust as you overtake chavs at 7200rpm! hehe

biggrin

Yep, I forgot about that one. I've been on a couple of PH runs with my Sport 160 now and have had several reports from following drivers of a short stab of flame shooting from my exhaust when on overrun.

Its when the exhaust gets properly hot after some enthusiastic driving. Deaccelerate sharply and you occasionally hear a really loud pop and bang. I think that's the moment the flame is produced. cool
