this is EXACTLY what Lotus needs. too bad they're too lethargic to run a factory-backed effort. Elise GT1 or even an Esprit would have been great.

The very best of luck to them! It's good to see Lotus back in more main stream motorsport. Anyone know of any Le Mans Lotus merchandise for sale??

It truly is great that Lotus could show it's face at LeMans... I know I'll be there giving my support.

I have been in contact with the Altschach team and offered my design services (I have designed the car graphics for a couple of the major F1 teams) and they have accepted my offer. Really very excited about this opportunity, and after speaking to them, they are doing their best to get the car ready for Le Mans. Fingers crossed, eh?

I am sorry to say that this car may have a wasted trip unless it runs in the GT (2) class, I don't think it will qualify 110 % within the Bentley times.

Oh I don't know I've seen the GT1 race and it was fast and went round corners extremely well. Its main problem was reliability as it seemed to like stripping its gearbox, but when it was going it overtook the Merc GT1 on the OUTSIDE of a corner at Donnington. 600BHP in a car that light makes a fast automobile.

I wish them all the luck. I also wish Lotus would produce a road going GT1 Elise (they've got the engine and gearbox ie V8 Esprit)
