Lotus Eagle Tests At 'Ring
Spy shots show new Lotus 2+2 testing at Nurburgring
The Lotus Eagle took to the Nurburgring this week before its expected unveiling at the British Motor Show.
This car has recently been undergoing a series of shake-downs including cold-weather testing in Scandinavia.
It is expected to be powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-litre petrol engine borrowed from Toyota.
The Toyota unit should be extremely reliable and will pass strict EU and US emissions regulations.
The latest shots show the car relatively undisguised and featuring a diamond pattern on the roof and doors.

Two cars, testing tyres perhaps, certainly not aero...

It is definitely a Lotus.
Take the number plate and use it to try and sell a car using ebay (dont worry you never get as far as paying for it but all the details for the car will be pre filled in).
According to ebay it is called a Lotus 2008 coupe colored blue and has 3458cc engine.
It was first registered on 01/02/08.
This is a good trick if you want some details about any car (this Lotus is not on the DVLA website btw).

Do Lotus use MIRA for testing as well?
I ask as I was sprinting at MIRA last Saturday and there was a small green car that looked very Elise like. I did wonder if it was an Elise replacement or a development mule.
No cameras allowed at MIRA otherwise I would have snapped a pic or two.

Taken from the story at BTG:
While it looks at first glance somewhat like an Elise, the new 3.5litre Lotus is in reality a fair bit bigger. The car will apparently be a 2+2 configuration, meaning you'll be able to fit two lithe and supple medium adults in the front, and a pair of under-nourished dwarves in the back.

Lotus Eagle supercar on track
This observer must admit to being somewhat disappointed by the Eagle's performance on track. Far from harrying Porsche and goading AMGs, the Lotus appears to be cruising around today. Miles from each apex and apparently terminally afraid of losing that 'beautiful' camouflage gear by going over 60mph...

Looks very small for a 2+2. I hope to god that Lotus have addressed the appalling ergonomics of the Elise in this model
??Lotus have lost a lot of sales because of this poor appreciation of driver ergonomics and people are only getting taller. If they expect the eagle to sell well globally, then they really have to address the lack of adjustability.
