Hi hope somebody can help, bought my first Lotus Elise S2,love it can't get me out of it,had a hairdressers car before(MX5)bought elise from Wilsons in Romford,2003 on the 52,under warranty, finding drops of water in the boot but seal looks ok,not practical to go back to Wilsons (5 hour drive from Wales)anybody got any ideas? Was thinking of putting chalk on top of the boot seal ,then closing the boot lid,see where the lid has chalk mark and then putting rubber draught excluder(for house doors)around boot lid to end up with double seal.Does that make sense?Any ideas would be much appreciated

Hopefully you've dealt with this by now - but if you haven't...

I had the same problem - If you park an S2 facing uphill on a steep slope then the rain collects at the non-hinged end of the bootlid and builds up until it overflows into the boot itself. Try parking downhill and see if it stops.

If you're not parking on a hill then I can't help (unless your drain holes at the hinge end are blocked with crud). Your dealer will be able to "install" a new drain hole and pipe at the rear of the boot, in the same place as the S1 Elise if you ask. I got this done under warranty and they even replaced the toolset, manuals etc that were water damaged.

Hope this helps.

Adam.
