Discussion
Hi to all,
I am currently considering buying a lotus elise. All my cars to date have been sedate bmws audis and 1 celica. Can anybody advise on which would be the best type of elise for me? I would be driving it regularly if not daily although I dont cover a lot of miles.I am looking something in the 2003/4 range.
What should I expect to pay for a low mileage elise in this condition?
I live in Northern Ireland so any advice on bringing a car over from England/Scotland/Wales would be welcome.
How much does a standard service cost and can any garage carry out servicing?
Im a complete novice where these cars are concerned but have my heart set on getting one so any advice from those with more experience would be much appreciated.
THANKS

Duncan, plenty of PH threads on here comparing the different models, so do a quick search.

Standard servicing I'd think could be done by any garage, but for the C service at least, I'd suggest sticking to an authorised Lotus dealer, or at very least a high performance specialist.
Thats just my personal thoughts though, others may suggest otherwise.

There is a buyer's guide in the Elise forum on here. Also worth registering on Seloc (www.seloc.org) and having a look around there.
There are a few Northern Ireland owners who post, so there are a few cars over there.
Whatever you end up choosing, make sure you get an independent inspection done by a Lotus specialist (not AA or RAC).
Good luck
