I was always under the impression that that car is the concept model for a Proton coupe based on the Elise chassis. When Proton hit financial trouble they had to can the project. The half developed car was taken back to Lotus who restyled it slightly and it became the Europa.

The disguise on the Eagle is pretty complicated - they've got a frame under the covers to make it look very angular, but I think we're going to see something pretty 'swoopy'.

The car in the spy photos shows loads of little elise s2 like styling cues. Cant wait to see the whole thing.

I reckon the europa might be the proton coupe because I was looking through some factory photos from the open day and there was a label for the exterior body parts that was wierd foreign word. Cant remember what it was but it started with an S

I heard that Proton wanted the Europa for a Proton coupe, but Lotus basically didn't want it harming their brand, so they fought to keep it a Lotus. I always thought the Styling was very safe, its a shame they couldn't have used more of the M250 cues to make it slightly more adventurous. Only the beefed up looking versions look half sexy.

The Europa looks much better when you see it in the flesh/plastic. I really like it.

But I need back seats, hence the Eagle.
