Club Lotus Magazine
Discussion
I've effectively been a member for 25 years as I've taken on my Mums old membership, to be honest the club mag has never been brilliant, (full of continuity errors and unfinished articles!, very 'mickey mouse') however the last couple of years things have got a lot worse. The triumph Sports Six Club mag is far better!
It could be due to the lack of input from the membership, in the old yellow issues there were always members stories, either that or they are fed up with "twincam woes" and other "done to death" classic Lotus stories.
I'll give Ann Marie a call during the week and see if I can get some feed back from her on the subject.

clanger,
If you have a problem with the content of the mag then why don't you send in an article?
I liked Angus's write up of his 'wine run'.
As least in an Excel you can get some wine in
My only grip with this issue is the font/underlining used in the 7 rebuild article. But that could just be my old eyes!
Perhaps the wine was the wrong sort to interest a connoisseur of fine wines? There didn't seem to be many other Lotus in the Beaujolais run. Noting the charities that benefited and the amount of money raised, I feel that Angus did a great job of representing the marque and Club Lotus - well worth a write up, and enjoyable to read. I like the format of the Club mag and I appreciate the effort invested by the team at HQ and all the contributors.

Reaper - I hope you can back those statements up.
To be fair, that was always half the problem with Club Lotus even when Graham Arnold was in charge: it was run, along with his BMW Club, primarily as a business, to provide Graham with a living.Whilst I don't dispute that Graham was committed to the marque, you do tend to get a different ethos when a club is owned and managed by one individual rather than 'by the members, for the members'.

Have been a Club Lotus Member for many, many years, but latest mag is really rock bottom - 2 pages on fetching a bottle of wine from France - WTF is interested in that???
A club mag by nature is going to have articles written by club members, i like the mag, although half the time i never get it as there seems to be a blackhole in regards to anything posted between myself an there hqSomeone took the time to write that and submit it, you find it boring fine, go write something "interesting"
If you soul contribution is going to be a "dull article" comment rubishing someones hard work (that they took the trouble to do for free) followed by "shit mag" post on here, then why bother.
If there's a problem with the membership/ownership then put frankly you are it
Peter me old fruit don't take life so seriously, you really must try to get out more
and if you quote please at least try to be accurate with what is actually said.
As a footnote might I 'frankly' suggest that you invest in a spellchecker and learn basic English, eg when to use 'their' rather than 'there', 'sole' rather than 'soul' - tsk, they are letting anyone into Lotus ownership these days

As a footnote might I 'add' that although my spelling is not perfect, it's probably down to the fact that i do not have time to spend 20 minutes on a 3 sentance post, going back to it several times to edit out mistakes, if i did i'm sure i too would be wordpefect
