It might be a long shot but I'm hoping you might be able to help.

I'm looking into hiring a classic car for a couple of days for my girlfirends parents. Her dad used to have a Elan so it would be great to get one of these.

Does anyone know of any classic car hire companies in the south, ideally with an Elan but not essential?

Thanks

Ollie

I don't know of any companies in the UK who operate classic Elans as hire cars.

They need a mechanically sensitive and competent driver to ensure that they remain reliable, so they're not really a practical proposition for a hire business.

I run The Open Road and know all the classic car hire companies in the UK. We used to have an Elan Plus2 but let it go as we had loads of small problems with it in typical Lotus style.

I am not aware of anyone the in UK hiring out any classic Lotuses.

Thanks for the replies. Will have to decide which one of the alternatives to go for.

I have launched a new website which may be of use to you Classic Car Hire World - see www.classiccarhireworld.com and it contains details of a few companies now hiring out Lotuses. Still no classic Elans but a few of the later cars.

Go to the Lotus page for full details http://www.classiccarhireworld.com/contentok.php?i...
