elise s1 tyres

hi i'm coming up for tyres on my s1 at the mo it has 185/55/15 fronts and 205/50/16 rears can i go to 195/50/15 fronts and 225/45/16 on the rear
what do people think of toyo proxes

might be worth posting on the Elise/Exige site.

Notwithstanding this, the larger sizes you quote were fitted as standard on the 111S like mine. Not sure if the wheels are any larger to accomodate but Lotus did fits some black 'spats' on the rear arches to ensure legality due to the extra width.

I'm sure one of the other guys will be able to give you a difinative answer.

111S wheels are slightly wider at the rear (7.5 instead of 7). That said its common to run 195/225 combo on the early wheels.

Proxys are considered ok as a cheaper option although certainly not as good as the Yoko Advan Neova etc.
