What are the symptoms of an ailing cam angle sensor.

Management light coming on periodically - cuts out spasmodically at circa 3k revs - no consistency when happens. Get to local GM dealer to run diagnostic check if in doubt (should b no charge). Renewed mine, 6 months ago - £200. Lotus are selling kits off cheap at mo - let me know if you want details of their offer.
