Any news on an interim Lotus?

I've heard tell that Lotus are working hard on getting an interim Lotus ready to show enod of 07 and for sale by 08.

Meant to be a sort of stop-gap car for the new Esprit, sounds like an M250 style spec sheet (V6 etc, etc) but an all new car, aimed at the £50k-ish sort of mark.

No idea how correct this is, and going on what hasn't happened with the new Esprit and the fate of the M250 I don't know how much water it holds. But has anybody else heard anything?

I guess you are referring to what has been highlighted in the motoring press as project "Eagle", a 2+2, V6, mid engined sportscar......

Yeah, work is still progressing on it at pace, no spyshots have popped up on the web yet so I guess the mules haven't been out on track at the many test venues used by Lotus and other manufacturers (Millbrook, MIRA, Nardo, Nurburgring)

I guess you'll just have to wait and see what pops up............

Yup, I heard that it was a 2+2 when I found out about it apparently - I must've not been paying attention. Sounds like it's being worked on pretty fast too... Maybe some spy shots will come soon

My mate saw something interesting when he picked up his Esprit from the factory recently, it was half under a cover but he liked what he saw, so there's definately something afoot.
