buying first elise

hi guys, looking to buy an elise as a second car.
went to christopher neil yesterday for a test drive, and after nearly crashing after the first 20 yards cos the brake was ever so close the the acc pedal, really enjoyed the ride.
i am looking at an s2 111s to be used as a second car what is the best way to get a car checked before buying privately.
also, how long is the manurfacturers warrany on elise cars.

Once you get the hang of it you'll realise that's deliberate
