Spotted: Elise GT1 road going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!!

Only ever seen a couple of racing ones, but here was a road going GT1 (p-reg), looking low and absolutly fantastic. How many were built???

What are they like to drive??

Can they really be driven on the road???

AFIK there are only two road legal GT1's as per the minimum requirement for the GT racing series. I think its a shame that Lotus didn't make more as I'm certian they would have sold (perhaps each one was making a loss).

I saw one at the Lotus show about 4 years ago and it is gorgeous. Perhaps the Esprit replacement will be a GT1 style, droooooollllll.

I beleive there was only ever 1 GT1 elise made to meet FIA homoligation regs.
Unless someone has converted one of the race cars to road spec.

I was told this week that the only road going car is being fettled by Rallycross ace Will Gollop for a customer.
