Lotus Elite 503 diff

[Mistral 8]

I'm looking at a 1979 Lotus 503 Elite with a V8 installed in it. Can anyone tell me what kind if rear end this car came with and if it can stand 300 foot lbs of torque. Any information will be appreciated. John Meredith

I can't tell you whether the original diff will handle that power, but make sure it can, because I can tell you that the diff is a REAL BITCH to replace! It took 2 of us around 3/4 of a day with all the tools required and a 4 post ramp.
