Does anyone know where the best place for me to buy a new Elan S2 backbox is?

It depends what you want. If you just want a straight replacement, then Lotus or Double S or SJ do them (www.sjsportscars.co.uk/).

If you want to research the possibilities for upgrades (stainless, straight through, larger diameter etc) Peco do a nice system. See discussions on LotusElanCentral (www.lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=36, esp www.lotuselancentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=79496&highlight=exhaust+rattle#79496) and make up your own mind.

Only you can decide what's best for you.

Thanks for that, I ordered a stainless one from SJS and fitted it on Friday.
