is the difference notceable on the road
Do you mean difference between tyres ? Ive only used the 48's on mine so hard to say but im sure the toyo's are perectly good enough for the road , had Toyos on my old Tuscan and thay were fine . That said i dont find a problem with the 48's on the road in any weather (exept ice and snow of course ) just moderate your driving , any tyre can aquaplane in standing water given the chance . Buy one , great cars for the money with stunning looks and more than enough performance on the road .

I was thinking more along the lines of tyre life and if the loss in grip was worth the prolonged life of say the toyos
toyos last 2-3x longer
you wont notice the difference in grip...the extra 20% you get out of A048s etc should only be used on track
anyone getting close to the cornering limits of an Elise using A048s on the road needs their head testing and probably wont be around long enough to worry about it !
