Please can you advise the best place to look for an Elan S4 Sprint fhc

I had an S2 dhc before marriage and kids and always promised myself another Elan one day.......that day has now come

Ideally I am looking for one already restored in mint condition

thanks in advance

Club Lotus magazine (new issue due soon), or contact Paul Matty Sports Cars maybe.

As Paul says, Club Lotus Magazine or Paul Matty are good bets.

Also try asking on LotusElan.net.

I've got one (see my profile - not quite mint/concours, but recently restored, with interesting history, and as good as I've seen) but whilst I wouldn't say it's not for sale at any price, you'd be talking strong money to persuade me to part with it!

Then again, the good ones don't tend to come up very often - once you've gone to the expense and trouble of making everything reliable, owneres tend to hang on to them.

Thanks for your input guys

My son has decided classic Elans are much better than his 3 year old Scooby WRX so he has bought an S4 Sprint from Paul Matty which PM had bought to restore.....mechanically very good - chassis replaced but interior/paintwork is a dog

Should keep me busy for the next year but saves me buying my own

Glad to hear it!

I'd be interested to hear how he gets on with it after the Impreza, though - they are chalk and cheese!

See if you can persuade him to post his thoughts either here or on LotusElan.net once he's had chance to do a few miles in it?

Try Pat Thomas @ Kelvedon Motors www.kelsport.net (much better on the phone than he is via email!!)
