Help!

Last time at le mans I saw a Lotus Elise with lambo style doors or vertical doors. Does anyone know where to buy some hinges for less than £1200!!!!! Like one company told me.

Thanks and see you at le mans 2007

Doesn't it double the weight? vis-a-vis making the Elise piss-slow?

check out Elisetalk.com in the US...but they are not cheap...£1200 is about the going rate...replaces a lot more than just the hinge...door beam, door inner etc...adds about 25Kg too

Yeah.... but it'll look the nuts!

I wanted to do this myself but decided that on an Esprit, because of its existing lambo-esque similarities it would look like it was trying TOO hard to be something its not... I still think it would have looked awesome tho!

25Kg is waaaaay less than a passenger - go for it!

Aren't you supposed to drive with the doors down anyway?

yes
Leave it the way it is I say. You already have Lambo doors if you want them... Gallardo doors...Oh & just think what it would be like to get in & out with the roof on...

I would like to see a picture of that anyway!!! but normally the lambo door kits are not really well done...I mean the movement is not like the real lambo doors...

Your right, they open outwards as normal about 8 inches then pivot upwards... i know a chap with some fitted to a Mitsubishi Evo & most the time he creeps out the gap before they swing upwards, they dont seal tight shut either so theres wind noise at speed...but.. err.. maybe you wont notice that bit

Please don't do it. If in doubt do a search for "Elise + Blue Angel" on google.
