My insurance company insist I get one installed on my Elise and will accept:
Trakker - Monitor or Horizon
Nav Track - Pro Active or Pro Active 4000.

I know a little about the Trakker products, namely the Horizon is seriously expensive but know nothing about Pro Active.

What can you guys tell me?

I've had my Elise with Direct Line for the last three years, but they've never asked me to fit a traker!

They will on renewal. I spoke to Wilson's my local dealer who reckon it's only become a requirement recently.

Yeah, I had the same thing with the Viper. Allthough not the Exige. I was informed that a 24 hour tracker must be fitted, and it is becoming mandatory for all cars valued over 35K. They recommend Tracker, which I went for, purely because it is endorsed by the Police, and used by the Police.

Try Aon/Lotus Esteem/Autotorque for a quote, they have been brilliant for me. James Caton 01483 706061

I hate trackers its just like paying another insurance premium. The insurance company should pay for them! Its only for their benefit not yours. If my car is stolen I dont want it back, it will probably be damaged and thrashed and you will be the proud owner of a stolen recovered vehicle. Great for its residual value!

Direct Line/Tescos only require a Tracker for new policies - not renewals. I clarifed this with them recently. Its strange logic of course - the woman on the phone just said 'we cant penalise our existing good customers who have been with us a few years' ..so basically they cant force anyone with an existing policy to fit a tracker ...just on new ones

What about the Tracker Retrieve?

That works out at £698 (£299 for the Tracker Unit and Installation, and £299 for the Subscrption to the Tracker Network for Life (or as long as you own the car))
