Tesla Sold Out
Discussion
Just been reading that the first 100 Tesla EVs have sold out. What surprises me is why Lotus didn't mention it in last weeks PR - its is based on the Elise and is being assembled here in the UK by them I believe. Tesla eventually plans to be doing 1000 a year. Thats serious revenue.

This gets more interesting - check out the MDs blog on the relationship with Lotus, a fascinating insight into how the car came into being, the technology and design. There are some interesting mods that the Elise might benefit from!

Just read the first motoring review of the Tesla Roadster at http//:www.windingroad.com. It comes out very favourably and there are some good pictures.
Winding Road is a pretty good online mag and worth checking out, although heavily US biased as its produced over there. Subscription is free and I haven't been spammed in the several months I've been registered.

Just back from a week in the States and picked up the US Automobile mag. Nice piece on the Tesla which they took for a spin - a very favourable write up although they will be glad when chassis guru Roger Becker has sorted out the harsh ride....
The first 100 'Signature' models are sold out. Apparently no deposits were taken, all customers paid full price up front - $100,000. They must be convinced the thing is going to live up to the hype (and Lotus can build them to a decent quality level!)
