Any Lotus Carltons out there ?
Discussion
We have one hiding in our garage,
For a 12 year old car it doesn`t do bad
output is 377bhp and 419lb/torque
The worlds fastest production saloon, and it still eats most modern vehicles alive in a straight line
and it does it with 4 people and a boot load of luggage on-board!
Where did you see the car? the main owners club is www.autobahnstormers.co.uk.
Cheers

Nice !
It was coming from Hitchin towards Shefford. He was behind me for a few miles until we hit the dual carriageway, i gunned it in 3rd expecting to lose him but after pulling away a little he started to catch up ! I know he was slipstreaming in clear air behind me but even so it was quite a shock
Only time i'd seen one in action before was an .avi filmed from a police car (in sweden i think) where he disspears into the sunset leaving the rozzers baffled

Nice,
I don`t know anybody in that area with one! But then they crop up everywhere (only 250 RHD ones!) I got an e-mail from Hungary the other day!
And they will storm all the way upto 170+ mph but only for 90 miles (cos at that speed they drain a full tank of juice!)
Its not a car to be driven in the wet or ice though! No safety aids and a lot of power through the rear wheels!

stuh - nope, not been out in a Noble yet - could well be my next car tho' although am considering upgrading Exige engine to 250bhp beastie at mo'. Got an open invite to test M12 at forthcoming trackday which reckon will take up. Was at Noble Motorsport in Chesterfield on Sat where they build your awesome engines. How do you rate the Noble?
I've had two!
First one was stolen and ended up in a warehouse in Manchester full of exotics on their way out of the country...
Second one was stolen and torched. Gutting!
Absolutely loved both of them!
Bought a Griff to replace the last one - but it just hasn't, and probably never will.
Maybe I should get another one...

Awesome is the word i would use !
It's my daily driver and spends most days pootling to the station and back, but i always look forward to the drive home
It's had a day at Silverstone where i got to stretch its legs and it made even a novice like me look quite good - no mean feat
Absolutely phenomenal levels of grip compared to the outgoing E46 M3, blisteringly quick to a ton, although i still find it doesn't quite have the top end you would expect of 300bhp+ after 7000miles, lovely turbo wooshes from the wastegates and fantastic road presence. The only downside for me is the roof but this is soon to be remedied by the GTC convertible i have on order
Let me know how you get on with it at the trackday!

Yes, a number of Vauxhall dealers were trained up - I used two - Frosts on the south coast and monorep in west london. Both were very good. Average bill was between £500-£1000. Had a gearbox go which was replaced under warranty - cost £6k!!! Apparently the replacement is only £2500 these days... only.
Best chap to chat to about them is James Waddington at the owners club, autobahnstormers - or try here: www.cerbera.co.uk/lotus_carlton/frconten.htm
There were 951 made - the nearer ro this magic number, the better they went.
