London TVR has announced that it's been appointed Lotus Dealer for London. It'll operate from its service department in Kings Cross for all after-sales matters and has a large stock of Lotus spare parts, according to principal Geoff Hodge.

Hodge said: "We also have two fully trained Lotus technicians on hand. Our new showroom is in the final stages of completion and, after many lengthy discussions with the Westminster Council, this should be open in mid- to late June

"We will be selling the full range of Lotus and TVR product. We have already received our new demo cars, an Exige 220 and the new Elise Sports Racer (see pic). We will be happy to arrange demonstrations for future buyers."

Hodge also said that the group has been appointed Land Rover approved service repairer and will operate from the same premises. "We have two fully trained Land Rover Technicians on hand to assist", said Hodge.

With the expansion of London TVR, the group will be using the following trading names: London TVR, London Lotus, and Land Rover North One Service Centre.

Well I can see them!

The real question is why 'London TVR' wants (needs?) to sell Lotuses?
Could it be that in order to make some money they need to actually sell some cars?

My thoughts exactly - HHC has just managed to 'widen' its scope too!

HHC at Hexham have done the same so they now sell TVR, Noble and Lotus. Not a bad move the strengthen their status as a 'sports car dealer' and not just being assosciated with TVR, especially given the current uncertainty. If you were selling specialist sports cars in an ever more competative market, wouldn't you look to spead the net a little wider..?

Any Lotus dealer in Central London is a welcome addition in my books, as having drive out to boon town (even for non-dealer specialists) all the time is real pain!

I think it makes perfect business sense, I'm doing sdomething similiar with my business at the moment....
I'd be more concerned about buying from a dealer i could trust who are enthusiasts which HHC are, than what other stock they sell.

Just out of interest, why do we need to know in the news that some dealer in London is going to sell Lotuses!?

No brainer - TVR's break down loads, owners get pissed off and bring them back. TVR garage then shows owner the nice reliable Toyota engined Elises, which are now more comfortable. Offers a test drive, TVR owner realises what a great car they are and swaps over. Dealer gets trade in, and new sale. Dream Machines in Sussex have done the same and seem to be doing OK.

Offers a test drive, TVR owner realises that they still sound like a bag of bolts in a Moulinex, that outright performance is somewhat short of being electrifying and that climbing in and out is a bit of a task especially with the roof up, and is now faced with a dilemma. Then the dealer shows customer a Noble which adresses these concerns, but could he live with most of the interior having been lifted straight from the Demon Tweeks catalogue? Owner leaves confused and heads for the local friendly(?) purveyor of Pork...

Decided to try them out for my MOT, 2 new A048's and an air con re-gas. They were really efficient and very helpful and being in central London it made a big difference to my to/from commute. All in all I would use them again as a dealer…..
