Lotus 340R gets hardtop

Launch party planned for next month

Need a hard top for your Lotus 340R? ReVerie is holding a launch party for its new accessory which has been under development for almost five years.

The device is a fully guttered and sealed, paint-ready composite shell with a removable, lacquered, carbon fibre louvred panel for engine bay access. It includes doors and ventilation, induction ducts and a polished carbon fibre centre spine. According to ReVerie, it takes 15 minutes to fit.

At the party, you'll have a chance to check out the hard top fitted to a customer car, as well as other carbon fibre products for your Lotus.

The party, with champagne and canapés, is on Wednesday 31 May; more details online.

I followed that option for a long time, now to see it on a real picture must say it looks great love to see it working and all fitments...though I live in NL so not next door sadly, but Reverie...well done guys!

Hmmm... now that's frustrating.

For the last three years I've been saying "If only someone made a ragtop for it, I'd buy a 340R", and now that I've just bought a Z4, they bring a hardtop out!

I suppose it's for the best, if I hadn't have got the Z4 I'd probably be at the Lotus dealer right now, and i'm not sure the 340R would be suitable for my morning commute!

i agree. practical but frigging ugly. Its not a car you pop to the shops in so whats the point!
You are also not going to drive to a trackday in the wet and then if the track dries out - pop the top off and leave it around. It probably cost around £3k knowing their prices lol

It would be easier and cheaper to take an Elise, remove the heater and glue the doors shut.

Ugly as sin, and where are the wing mirrors. yes some cars will catch and overtake you

If you need a hardtop, you should not have bought a 340 R

hm...indeed no wingmirrors have not seen that or mis them yet, maybe the fixing point for that or the new mirrors where not ready yet? I see 2 little holes around where the standard wingmirrors use to be??

In the dim and distant past of 340R ownership I seem to remember no heater...so how does this thing demist the screen?

can't help in thinking that this is going against the original design philosphy of the car. I wonder what the weight will be? Will have to wait to see it in real life to see if it's as ugly as it appears in the pictures. I wonder what the price will be, my guess is not much change out of 3k!

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but come on guys! You really think it looks good? As has been said, this is a trackday car, a fun car, a no weather-no worries car. And 5yrs late??? Next they will have an all over one for an Atom!

Thank you - I now remember the heated screen! I didn't have the car long as on the road it was only marginally quicker than the mk1 Elise with a decat.
