they've done themselves no favours here, such a drastic change to peoples hours, how would anyone here react if you walked in on monday to be told this.
Such an issue needs very sensitive management and clearly what they've done here is wade in with big boots and now they have a militant angry workforce who are far less likely to be receptive to proposals that are clearly important to the companies future

Rather be told this than be layed off because there was no work. I thought the company tried to be very reasonable.

Seems quite a reasonable proposal to me, maybe not very well managed but in this day & age poor communication of the reasons was most likely the problem???
