Lots of people saying how much they liked the M250.

So who's going to start the campaign? Anyone want to register bringbackthem250.com? :-)

Wasn't the M250 a styling design exercise of which a few made their way over to the S2 ? So you could say Elise S2 = Poor Mans M250 !

Nope, it was a fully fledged vehicle, intended to slot between the Elise and Esprit and to compete with TVR, Porsche et. al. As specc'd it was to have a 3 litre V6, enough luggage space for two sets of golf bags and be capable of quite good top speeds.

couldnt agree with u more here tuna! just to throw in a curve ball...

and for those interested (probably no one!!) ... had a quick look at affairs at proton. the VW deal looks increasingly unlikely. vw have little to gain. they just reported another qtry. net loss on higher debt and lower sales. plus the usual higher components costs re materials blah blah blah. subject to an earnings downgrade and have cut FY06. nothing new there then. new CEO but it seems quite a bloody bit depends on this VW deal. merrill reduce their fy07 and 08 on slower contributions from lotus... (anyone want the full report PM me - cant imagine why u would tho). to me it appears to be a win win situation... VW link up would deffo mean new management at lotus. no vw link up more pressure on proton to dispose of MVAgusta and lotus...

thoughts?

This AM - state-controlled carmaker Proton Holdings is
seeking ways to sell out from Italian motorbike Agusta; is contacting
private equity funds about the sale; CSFB appears to be helping with the
sale (Il Mondo)

Lotus is next boys... I do wish the current management a very Merry Christmas.

Yep, bring it back. Would happily pay the £40k or so that they were originally going to ask for one of them.

When i spoke to a chap at Lotus recently i asked why the M250 was canned, he told me straight and said it was the fact that they had run out of money. With the Proton cash pumped in, who knows, it might have got resurected but this was the time when the Europa pics were leaked, (when it was sat in what appeared to be the warehouse?) there is nothing to suggest that the M250 might become the Europa, it looks to me like they're just testing the water with a change of direction with the styling, everyone agrees, it looks too bland. I bet it will change once the Motorshow comes round, lets face it, apart from the 2006 MY Elise, what has come out of Hethel worth shouting about??

All i was told to do was, "Watch this space"

(this is from a credible source at Lotus too)
