Does anyone know who owns the actual Esprit used in Pretty Woman and where it resides.

Sorry, but there was an Esprit in Pretty Woman??
Only car I can think of was the one Richard Greer took off in when he first picked Julian Roberts up and he "couldnt drive stick" so she drove.

I always thought that was a Diablo??

The giveaway was when he first pulled up to where Julia was standing and she says to her friend "That's a Lotus Esprit..."

Ah - you're forgiven - other than that part, movie was

Yes it is a Lotus Esprit SE. I am not sure if it is an 89' or 90'. That particular Lambo model wasn't in production yet.

Just found this in the trivia section on IMDB for Pretty Woman...

"The car that Edward picks up Vivian in belonged to producer Nancy Gross."

Looking on the cast list for the film, she was the producer of it....

I've only ever seen it once and it was along time ago, before my interest in cars really took off
Please forgive me.

I dont know the location of the Espirt in Pretty Woman but the one Sharon Stone drove in Basic Instinct is for sale.

Here's the link:

Wonder if she uncrossed her legs while driving.
Bet the first thing the new owner does is sniff the seat!!! LOL

They used an older G model Esprit to smash. If you go frame by frame you can see the differences... (yes, I have a lot of time on my hands!)

ErnestM

Edited to add, if you go frame by frame in that movie you may see something a bit more interesting, however

I thought the Esprit in Pretty Woman was a special American spec 89 model, which means non-SE, but with the SE wing. I think the federal model also had fuel injection, not carbs, due to emission issues, but of course no chargecooler if it's non-SE. Lotus churned out a big bunch of white ones, which seems to be a colour that the American market likes their Lotuses in.

Hey, guys. Check out the "Pretty-1" video clip on www.espritfactfile.com. Watch the first frame of that clip, and you will see by the lettering on the rear quarter window that this Esprit is an SE. Later in the clip you will also see that it is a "Glassback". Nothing is for certain, but I believe that this dates this car as being something between a 1989-1/2 and a 1991. In 1992 they eliminated the Glassback.

Ask and ye shall receive:

The Pretty Woman Esprit is up for auction, click here

...to buy it, just hop a flight to Scottsdale, Arizona USA on January 17th. By the way, there is an authorized Lotus dealer in Scottsdale if you want it checked out first...

Anyone know what happened to the white Turbo Esprit from the beginning of For Your Eyes Only? I know the other 2 Bond Esprits are in museums, but somehow I doubt they really blew that first Turbo up.

Try here... www.carsofthestars.com/

And yes, I believe they did blow up a real car... but it was just a stripped out shell

I'm not sure if you guys in the US have had this but because of the launch of the new Bond film recently there has been rather a lot of Bond related TV shows and in one they were talking to the guy who drove the S1 in "The Spy Who Loved Me"
