tyres!?.....help please!

Hi all,

I have an s2 111s with lightweight OZ alloys, and very.....very slick Yokohoma tyres on it. back ones are yokohama 225/45r17 90w, fronts are 195/50r16 84v.
Thay are totally illegal,....fantastic in the dry,.....but unbelievably scary in the wet. and as the rains now cometh.....my life is begining to hang in the balance every time we go for a....spin....I feel I have achieved as much as I can with my present set.

So, with my alloys,......what would you all think is a good everyday tyre for general use, with the british weather in mind. I don't want a rain tyre, we won't be using it all that much through th winter, but the tyres on at the moment are just too soft and don't last even nearly long enough.

any help is very gratefully appreciated.

Yokohama A039 LTS (original S1 Exige rubber) - thats what Im running in the winter on my spare OZ's and use the A048s for summer/track use
