Put Beaujolais in your Lotus

This year's run for charity starts soon

Go get the Beaujolais!
Go get the Beaujolais!
Lotus Club International's Beaujolais Run is go.

Its a two day, navigational event and the team that reaches the destination in the fewest number of miles and having completed a series of secret checkpoints will be crowned the winner. Lotus Club will be offering a prize to the winning team.

Starting on Tuesday 15 November with a welcome dinner, you drive through the night, returning on Thursday with the new wine. And it's all in aid of charity -- The Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.

Itinerary

Tuesday 15 November

Start with a welcome dinner at Brands Hatch followed with a parade lap around the circuit before heading off to Folkestone.

Wednesday 16 November

Navigate through the night, then cross the finishing line and enjoy a hearty breakfast in Maçon. Then there's time for some well-earned rest and relaxation before you indulge in an unforgettable celebration dinner and prize-giving, Then it's off to Beaujeu in time to witness the midnight celebrations as the Beaujolais Nouveau is released.

Thursday 17 November

"Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!"

Having recovered from the celebrated French hospitality, there's an opportunity to visit a local wine house and buy some pre-reserved Nouveau, or for the more discerning palette, some mature regional wines from their extensive selection.

The cost for taking part £525.00 per team including accommodation/meals etc). Each team has also been asked to raise £1,000 in sponsorship -- remittance of funds won't be needed until February 2006.

Lotus Club said it was looking to gather as many teams as possible to take part in what promises to be fun and memorable event.

If you want to take part call Caroline on 01953 608795.

This looks like a rather good cause and probably quite a laugh its just a shame about the beaujolais as it is one of the worst wines i have ever had the misfortune to pass across my lips!!
