It seems Motorway Sports cars have become part of the Dutton Forshaw conglomerate, and are moving to a new site in Canterbury.
When did they get bought out? I hope they don't lose the years of experience/expertise they had or the friendly approach. I got to know one of the parts guys by his first name when I was running my Excel everyday. And the mechanics were always willing to give advice, especially when they were at Boughton.
RIP Motorway Sports. :(

Paul.

It happened several months ago now. Always had good service from them and knew nothing about the change until the phone was answered by DF's automated system.

The new main dealer is Dream Machines in Heathfield, and thankfully so far I've found them to be even more helpful than Motorway were.

I phoned Dutton Forshaw last week as my car ('04 Elise) needs a little bit of warranty work - rather than 1 1/2hours to Bell and Colvill, I'll take the 1/2hour to Dutton Forshaw!

My car's going in on Wednesday (they now only do servicing, no sales), but up until this point and with the guy I spoke to (I beleive his name was Peter), was first class.

I'll report back on their service on Friday when I get my car back (the heater's broken).

hi
forgive me if i am telling you something you already know but there is another new lotus dealer at aylesford near maidstone called lipscombe open now, they have a new multi million pound facility opening next month with state of the art workshops, i have no first hand experience of them but from what i know of their history as a volvo dealership and having spoken to the MD recently i am sure the service will be excellent.

Thanks for that, but I was aware. It's only 1.5 miles from where I live. Very handy for bits, though I doubt if they will stock much excel stuff.
Motorway sports was a Lotus dealer for many years, with lots of experience of the older cars. Its a shame they have gone. No amount of excellent customer service can replace that experience and knowledge.

Motorway Sports were, in my experience, not a company I would choose take my Loti to. The same can be said for DM.

The ex-Motorways Sports aftersales guy (Matthew?) is now at Lipscombs and (whilst I've mainly dealt with Mark Barnes [Franchise Manager] and Paul Parkinson [Sales]) they appear to be getting it very right, even from their temporary premises.

They have engaged with the local Lotus club have a refreshingly open and welcoming showroom, with friendly and attentive staff. The mechanic (Mark IIRC) is a great guy and a real enthusiast.

I'm sure they'll be able to source whatever you need - they have a lovely V8 Esprit in there at the moment for sale.

Strange, when I was a regular visitor to MSC at the Boughton premises ('95 to '99), they couldn't have been more helpful. I used to deal with Matthew (the same one?) in the Parts Dept. I only ever used the workshop for checking the cambelt tension, but again, no complaints at all, and one of the mechanics was always willing to give advice to help me with my home maintenance, even though there was nothing in it for the company except the generation of goodwill.
Still, things move on, its good to hear the new dealer is generating a good impression. I look forward to dealing with them.

Personally, I'd drive a few miles to Fibreglass or one of the specialists
