What would a Type 49 Cat D (just panel damage) with around 2000 miles on it be worth car is just over a year old ?

Are you sure it's just panel damage? Elise chassis can damage easily in a big shunt and damage here often causes a Cat D.

A couple of 49s owned by SELOC members have been written off recently, I'd recommend posting there as well - you may find the previous owner replying.
