Have to disagree with you there. Since Geeley took over not only have they invested a few hundred million in Lotus already, they have significantly strengthened the engineering and design leadership as well as the development and delivery capabilities of the company. Yes, marketing etc has started to get its act together and it does look a bit naff at times, but its based on solid product plans with the investment required to deliver them, not smoke and mirrors and zero budget. And lets not revisit the 'its not a Lotus if its electric' nonsense. If they don't go electric, there will be no Lotus. Period. But then again, I have no intention of trading my Esprit for an EV.....
Ditto. Assuming a decent and growing revenue stream from the electric SUVs and the 4-door coupe support the ongoing development of the sports cars then I'm all for it. Works for Porsche, why not Lotus?
TBH, the Type 132 teasers are intriguing. A Lotus designed SUV with active aero, low, sleek profile, Lotus developed chassis and all the modern gubbins that will be necessary to compete - autonomous driving, infotainment screens etc - sounds pretty good to me. So if we have to go electric next time I replace the family car, I'm in. Built in China, so what? That's not harmed Volvo or Polestar.

These surfaced on The Lotus Forums, from a Chinese site
I'm guessing at something like the Geely Zeekr 001 underneath the Lotus surfacing, which'll make it bigger than an iPace and closer to an X5 but with a lower roofline.

It's massive. Perhaps a bit dull looking to compete with DBX and Urus?

It seems unlikely but car Magazine did an interview with one of the high ups in Lotus, he was adamant that they wouldn’t be platform sharing with anyone and they had the freedom to develop their own.
It does seem very unlikely though as it would cost billions to develop their own which would seem bonkers if they have a platform ready to go in the group. Hopefully if they are sharing Lotus can hang all their own stuff of it.
