Yellow Elan Sprint
Discussion
This reminds me of something that happened to me about 20years ago outside Worcester. I was driving home with my wife in our slightly ropey VW Golf GTi. The Mondeo driver in front started to drive a little erratically whilst looking into his rear view mirror. I decided to over take him and checked my mirror - to see the bottom half of what turned out to be a 1020's Bentley baring down on us. It overtook us both and shot down the road with astonishing speed for such a vehicle, driven by an elegantly dressed gent - probably in his mid seventies, accompanied by an equally elegantly dressed lady of similar age. I overtook the Mondeo but didn't catch the Bentley until we arrived at some traffic lights. I was totally in awe of this couple using the car as it was originally intended. I have been to lots of car events over the years including the Le Mans classic 3 times and I have never seen anything like this before or since. If I could have spoken to him I probably would have shook his hand.

I had a life affirming 5 minutes yesterday following an elderly lady in a yellow sprint (MAB 10K) thrapping down the Conwy Valley. She was having a ball in the corners! No seatbelt!
Such a tiny thing in front of my Ranger!
The noise was delicious!!

Glad to hear you had your belt on!
Apologies for the 'elderly' reference if it offended!

I also tune it myself, it is basically a racing Elan Sprint for the road as it has full Tony Thompson Racing Suspension, Cooling and Drivetain with LSD, The engine rebuild and Lotus replacement Chassis were both carried out by Miles Wilkins and Susan Miller has supplied most of the other bits which includes a full poly bush kit that I have fitted this summer.Glad to hear you had your belt on!

I more recently did a trip up to Duns in my Elan Sprint and one of the curators of the Jim Clark Museum asked if they could use my video footage for the museum of me blatting down Jim’s local roads.
It is posted on my YouTube Channel Victoria Bailey, Driving Jim Clark’s local Roads. Sorry as I am on my IPad I don’t know how to link it or if I’m aloud the post a link.

You may, or may not remember, but I pulled over to let you pass as your car is an icon of British design, both in looks and engineering.
I knew that there were cars ahead but just had to listen to the engine/exhaust note from behind. That was at Tal y Bont IIRC.
However, I didn't know how special your car is.
Are you local to here because if you are I'm surprised I've never seen you in your lovely CC motor.

It was on he 4 walled towns Trial or whatever it is called, I know I left the Denbigh start in about 130th position and was 1st to arrive at the Conway stop by some 5 minutes. As a lot of them drive their Classic cars maybe 2 or three times a year at a snails pace. You may, or may not remember, but I pulled over to let you pass as your car is an icon of British design, both in looks and engineering.

I drive mine a lot around the Snowdonia & Denbigh moors area’s of North Wales as I like to play with the big boys on the twisty’s as they hate my Little Snorter staying with and playing their big bruisers.

lol at the end, going nicely up and around the corner...oops, Police
and yes, that bonnet, hope you can fix that soon.
The funny thing with the police was that we followed him up into Duns as the police station in only a couple of hundred yards away from the Museum and he gave us a thumbs up when we drove past him.and yes, that bonnet, hope you can fix that soon.
I can only assume that he must of heard us coming up the road behind him and must of liked the sound of the Elan Sprint. 😂
