I picked up my Chimaera from TVR101 in Bentley near Farnham after a service.
Apparently they are now doing a lot of Lotus servicing and recently rescued and renovated 2 Elises'. I am quite tempted by an Elise next having seen one at TVR101.
Has anyone gone from TVR to Lotus and if so what are your thoughts?

Yep owned both. TVR`s are great fun and have loads of character and a great sound track, and good at spirited speeds.

Generally Lotii, since the Elise especially have way better chassis and steering dynamics, infact better than or as good as anything out there. Lotii believe it or not are generally way better built. You might miss the V8 soundtrack but you will struggle to have a more exciting and engaging B road blast in anything other than an Elise...which has a roof. Oh yes and Elises are relatively economical...

I've had a Griffith 500 among several Loti.

I didn't gel with the TVR at all. It looked good, sounded good, and was brutally quick (in its day) in a straight line, but the handling was plain lethal compared to the Elise and when you started poking about underneath the crudity of the engineering was laughable.

But they're obviously very different cars, so if you do get on with the TVR, the Elise may not be for you. Most likely it will feel too dainty and lightweight: the TVR is a sledgehammer by comparison with the Elise's rapier.

I came out of a Griffith 500 into an Elise. I’d owned TVR’s for 24 years, fancied a change.

My only regret, not making the move years ago! Totally in love with the Elise.

In the last year I’ve put more miles on the Elise than I did in 4 years ownership of the Griffith, including 2 road trips of 1000 miles. So that tells you something.
