Maintenance on V8
Discussion
I recently purchased a 2000V8 with 23K miles. The car seems to be in great condition but is being inspected next week to confim its quality. I owned an SE and did most of the work on my own(With MUCH help from the "experts" on TurboEspritList). Now that I'm jumping into a 2000, will I still be able to get lots of help and be able do most of the work on my own? Some folks have told me that the 2000 is bullet proof outside of your normal maintenance like all other cars...

The service history is immaculate. One owner that lived 10 min from Boardwalk Lotus. He did every service maintenance at the right time and fixed all the glitches early on. The clutch feels great and hopefully they give me the "OKAY" next week for me to pick it up. The PO used it 3 times a week all year long to commute to work. The brake pads are the same since 2000 and are still in good order along with the tires.

Sounds like there are no worries ahead. I found my '98 to be no problem maintenance wise since I bought it. I do have an intermittant problem with the airbag light, but some recent info gleaned from the TurboEsprit list may solve that.
I think you should be ready to go. I would just take it easy for the first few months so that you can (1)make sure there are no major issues and (2) get used to the car (I find that every car that I drive has their own personality - I even owned a Dodge Stealth and Mitsu 3000 at the same time and they both had unique personalities and they were the same year and color )
Above all - have fun with it and drive it often!
cheers
