Best for modified car insurance?
Discussion
Hi guys, just looking for some advice on insurance providers for a heavily modified Elise s2.
First time I’ve had a modified car so looking for any advise on who to go with.
It’s a supercharged Honda K20 Elise and I’d like to do maybe 5-10 track days a year with it...
Any advise much appreciated 👍🏻
Cheers 😊

I have my Elise S1 with REIS, they were about half the price of others and offer 6 european trackdays a year as long as I tell them beforehand.
Regarding modifications, mine is your typical induction kit, 4-2-1 manifold, EP exhaust, enlarged TB, few cosmetic changes and they basically said if it doesn;t have forced induction they don;t care.

A-Plan or Sky insurance for me
The person I spoke to at Greenlight wouldn't even quote unless I was prepared to take up the policy immediately as they didnt want the 'to-ing and fro-ing over the price'
It's simple really, just give me your best price for the policy and let me decide - but no, wasn't prepared to quote.
Both A-Plan and Sky quoted immediately over the phone and I chose the policy to suit me, no to-ing and fro-ing involved.

I've been with A-Plan on and off for several years. Beyond any actual price issue they are generally good people to talk to because that particular branch (Thatcham) covers all of their specialist, import and modified vehicles and seems to have a lot of enthusiasts with good knowledge. It's nice talking to someone who understands what you're talking about when you start rattling off the list of mods, versus a drone who stops to ask before ticking each box on their spreadsheet.
