Dear Sir/ Madam ,

About an hour ago I posted a message saying how pleased I was with the service from Bell and Colvill , introducing myself and my new car to my fellow PH'ers , and saying that I would like their involvement in a book that I was planning to write on the Elise .

I wrote the exact same message on :

1) The Lotus Forum
2) SELOC
3) Lotus Talk
and none of these others have seen any issue with this posting

I have written hundreds of postings on PH , mostly on the PH Supercar section , always politely and in keeping with the rules .

There has been no explanation for the removal of my Lotus posting in my in -box ( that I can find )

Please could you explain exactly why this censorship has been executed - so that I , and others can learn from your reasoning .

It would be sad when a purchaser of a car that has been advertised on PH is castigated for saying how wonderful that dealer ( who has presumably paid PH ) is , or when an enthusiast tries to connect with fellow enthusiasts .
Writing a book as an amateur is a loss making exercise , not a money making exercise .
One does it because one loves cars , and an amateur writer funds the book , and not the other way around .
The Supercar forum moderators never had any problems with this .

This was pretty much my first posting on the Lotus forum , and some public clarity as to the rules here would be good , so that we can all learn what the limits on this forum sub-section is , and then make a considered decision as to whether we feel welcome here .

Thank you , and I , and no doubt other PHers , look forward to hearing your explanation

Happy New Year

Thank you for your reply Pot Hole .

I , and I suspect others , could do with some clarity , so that we stick within the rules .

And if we do not get an explanation from the Mods , the we will not be able to learn and :

1) modify our contributions OR
2) stop posting altogether , and disappear from PH , which will ultimately impact the dealers who advertise , and thereby keep PH alive

As far as I can see you post was deemed as advertising and was therefore removed.

Should you wish to discuss this matter further, then please follow the rule of posting No. 23

which states:-

You cannot mail moderators directly. If you have a complaint about or issue with the moderation of the forums, do not post threads in Website Feedback but email info@pistonheads.com.

As already suggested.
