I recently picked up my Chimaera from TVR101 in Bentley near Farnham after a service.
Apparently they are now doing a lot of Lotus servicing and recently rescued and renovated
2 Elises'. I am quite tempted by an Elise next having seen one at TVR101.
Has anyone gone from TVR to Lotus and if so what are your thoughts?

Many years ago I though my TR6 was the business...then a few years later in the early 90`s I got a TVR S3...then I realised how rubbish the TR6 was (although these days they have a different place). I then had several years with no money and nothing really. Eventually things improved and I eventually bought an S2 Elise...can`t tell you how much better than the TVR it was. However they are a different type of driving experience and it depends what you are looking for...Lotus are all about poise, balance and driver interaction and control.

I have and had a couple of Lotus' and TVRs.

Obviously very different cars that reflect the age they were built in.

Lotus' are a lot more planted and the build quality I find is better, but doing generalisations is
very difficult as they are completely different beasts.

We have two Elises and a 2000 Tuscan. The latter goes to TVR101.

One Elise is a T25 111S K series the other the Jim Clark supercharged version. Both are very different from each other and again from the Tuscan. No simple answer. It depends what you like from your car really.

We are probably not that far from you. Maybe meet one day for a coffee or beer and talk it through if you like. Drop me a pm if yes.
