I was in David Hayton Lotus on Saturday looking at an Evora and the salesman was very excited about the Evija and reckoned we should be too - time will tell I guess?
But I just cannot get excited about an EV I'm afraid, least of all a Lotus
I agree about getting excited about EV's however ICE cannot go on forever, and the same will be the same for EV's as they all use resources But I just cannot get excited about an EV I'm afraid, least of all a Lotus
but in the mean time with a few hours to go https://youtu.be/B03UPE_GDmQ
Launching at 7pm apparently - not sure if there'll be a live stream or anything https://www.lotuscars.com

tHink the web site is down It's a start I suppose but they will have to make an affordable EV at some point, they can't just make 1.7m motors.
Also, when are manufactures going to realize that recharging batteries 'in car' is not the way forward but interchangeable batteries that are ready charged, this would be done at a fuel station on an exchange. Pull up to the exchanger station and it will auto swap your battery, there is a business in this supply and demand.
Wake up entrepreneurs! Manufactures would have to agree to a standard battery shape to make life easier.
They figured this out with the battery drill, instead of waiting to charge the whole drill and work stops, they made interchangeable batteries allowing the workman to continue while the dead battery is charging.
Long distance drivers would find the service of battery swap useful. Your onboard display will you tell you the condition of the battery, where it came from and how old it is etc.

Rather assumes that every car has the same battery, using the same technology, packaged in a way that can be easily removed.Wake up entrepreneurs! Manufactures would have to agree to a standard battery shape to make life easier.

When they're charging up in 10-15 minutes it doesn't seem worth it.

10 15 mins? I'd have thought longer for an 18 wheeler, once perfected I'd say it would take the time it takes to get a Costa for your battery to be swapped, who knows, Costa may offer this service.
What I mean by standardizing the battery pack, is rather like a mobile device, Samsung don't share the same layout as Apple which isn't a problem because we charge them as we drive and as we sleep etc but a long distance driver where 'time is money' might appreciate the change over service while others sit waiting around to charge.
How's it going James? you have a nice set up car wise since I saw you last in Duns.
