what pads and discs?
Discussion
S1 is ready for pads. I might as well renew the disks as well.
I use the car daily to commute along 15 miles of fun B roads. No track days.
I have experienced brake fade whilst travelling “enthusiastically” to work, so I’m thinking of upgrading.
If I upgrade what do I buy and where from?
I have a good mechanic as a good friend so I’m not planning to use the main dealer.

Disks, if they're inside tolerance (minimunm thickness 24.9mm then they'll be fine, otherwise I'd probably go for the standard ones or EBC turbo-grooves. The standard style ones from Eliseparts are apparently better quality than the Lotus ones and are much cheaper. I don't buy the whole dimpled and grooved thing and will be going for plain disks when I replace mine. If you want to spend a bit more (not a huge amount) try and track down some Hi-Spec disks, better quality and available drilled and or grooved or just plain.
Pads, Mintex 1144 which are a fast road pad, EBC Green Stuff take some warming up before they work which can be alarming. If you were tracking it, I'd say Pagid RS4-2s.
All this can be bought from www.eliseparts.com/
