Hi folks, is there a popular and upgrade for an S3 Elise? Standard is comically ineffective. Thanks

They're pretty rubbish aren't they?
I am a new owner of an Elise S3 as well (new to me) and have been staggered by how short the headlight beam throw is.
Full beam works well. I have been wondering whether full beam would dazzle other drivers much given how low the Elise is compared to other cars.

when i had mine i upgraded the bulbs to the best i could get and worked on getting the alignment spot on, you'll never get an elise to have great lights as its so low so you'll need to get them pointing up for a longer throw (then down for MOT time )

that or bonnet spots like the rally/24hr cars!

I often didn't realise I hadn't turned them on, the DRLs where brighter than the headlights! it's one of the things that would put me off having another Elise/exige.

My old Exige S roadster dipped beams were diabolical, but I had the bulbs replaced by high intensity ones and it was fine thereafter. I now have a new Exige 430 Cup can both full and dipped beam are fine??? Guess it might be more to do with alignment? I also run a 2007 Volvo XC70 and the dipped beam headlights are even worse than my old Exige lights!

They are shockingly bad. I fitted a hid kit. Very good.

I think that's what I need. Could you kindly advise what kit you chose and how easy was it to fit? Thanks.

Sorry, I can’t remember which kit. I think it was from hids direct? I bought the most expensive one they had, which was about £60 I think. Pretty straightforward fitting. (On V6 Exige) sure it would be similar for else.

Bear in mind that now with a hid kit you'll need a sympathetic MOT tester....
