Highly Impressive Lotus Evora 410
Discussion
Well I post next to nothing on Pistonheads but read with avid interest especially several forums to which I have particular interest.
I was lucky enough to have another car hunting day out of complete indulgences and enjoyed the whole experience as usual. Part of the day out included a quick pop in to Central Lotus to visit an old marque which has always intrigued and as a 55 year old I have memories of a different era regarding image of the Lotus brand, largely impressive but not entirely.
Any how, I went to look at an Evora 410 that Central have for sale, as often cars in the flesh differ somewhat from internet images and videos that are so easy to access.
Central Lotus, to whome I have no allegiance, were very generous in there time showing me the car and I had full access. Now it almost certainly goes without saying that the car will be dynamically awesome but one thing struck me beyond what I had expected by miles. The quality generally and in particular the interior. It looked like a premium product and even had the feel and smells of other premium brands. Well done Lotus.
It gives car nuts in this price bracket another genuine choice. I think I may own one day.

I already liked Lotus generally and Evoras especially (hence my visit to Central Lotus on my way home from purchasing my long planned next steed) and I have to say the quality of the paint, carbon bits and pieces and especially interior trim and design means it is now time to research in ernest. Very happy with my latest aquisition but at 55 I have quite a few cars on the bucket list and Lotus Evora (probably 410) is now one of them.
I have a 410 they are superb cars. Buying a new lotus has been frustrating and not something I would repeat until they sort out quality control at the factory but boy what a car. My pal just bought a gt4 and that feels slow heavy and not that sharp at the side of the 410.
I plan to replace it in the next 18 months with a GT3 but I will need to test a gt3 first I think as the Evora is a heck of a pair of boots to fill.

JCT600 did a “drive it” day up here in Yorkshire, a chance to take an extended test drive with no pressure. I had a great experience in a new 410 then the following weekend finally bought an Evora Sports Racer after (literally) years of thinking about it.
I think any Evora is something of a hidden gem in the marketplace, everyone asks me about my car but pretty much nobody knows anything about them - even including petrolhead friends.

It's the best car in the world that nobody buys.
The 410 has tweaked suspension but not sure on the turn in. I haven't had sufficient time in a 400. They are heavy I think at 1400kg although they don't generally feel heavy to drive the turn in is where you will feel the inertia especially stepping out of an Elise.
However the 410 does feel incredibly nimble and up on it's toes see previous comments about a long awaited drive in a gt4. I was shocked.

Thanks. I was driving the 400 in the torrential rain late saturday pm down the leafy lanes and rivers in Surrey around Bell and Colvill. It was utterly brilliant in such conditions and completely put my mind at rest about using a 400 in inclement weather.
As a side note, I am also mightily impressed by Bell and Colvill. Jamie's welcome is fantastic and who in their right minds gives a prospective customer the keys to a 400bhp sportscar. That's the power of great selling. I actually want to become a customer (again) of B&C! Last time (a few years back) it was the mighty Impreza P1.
I guess it's hard to tell in such wet conditions, but the turn in on the 400 felt a tiny bit sluggish.
